Our dedicated public affairs team will be offering its expertise in the political and policy environment, and working with clients to build trusted relationships that support the acceleration of climate action.

New Government Analysis
Following the government reshuffle last week, we have launched a New Government Analysis. We outline the profiles of the new minsters in charge of climate policy, taking a look at their immediate priorities, and provide reflections of some influential thinkers in the green politics space.

Budget
It has just been announced that the new Chancellor Rishi Sunak will be delivering his Spring Budget on 11 March as planned. It is expected to include announcements for investment in the green economy, being the first Budget since the government’s commitment to a 2050 net-zero target.
COP26
Last week, the new COP26 President was announced as Alok Sharma, who is also Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
In the build-up to the UN Climate Conference, taking place in Glasgow in November, we will be engaging with clients to participate in the Summit and updating on the government’s key plans in leading the international negotiations to secure further Country commitments to reach net-zero by 2050.
